It’s the second day of Pride Month and we have no shortage of LGBTQ+ book recommendations, but I thought I’d talk about a book which wasn’t as popular as it’s predecessors by a long shot despite having a fat, bisexual, main character.
When this book came out, I was extremely excited. I was happy that Becky Albertalli wrote a book about Leah who is bisexual. It took place in the world of Simon vs. the Homo Sapien’s Agenda where we first met Leah. However, I related to this book far more. I really enjoyed Leah as a character and while there were a few plot points that felt inconsistent with the Simon universe, it didn’t bother me that much. I’m very forgiving with my queer rep, but I understand why people were disappointed by this book.
For me, I was just happy to have a book about a bisexual lady who was fat and had plenty of snark.
