Why did you start blogging and why have you kept blogging?
So, this blog started because of Chantel. I always give her that credit, honestly. I used to only review on Goodreads and had tried starting a blog, but I didn’t see the point of it. In January 2017, Chantel asked if I’d read something with her. And then we decided to read a book per month together. Then, in March 2017, she asked if I wanted to start a blog so we could post our reviews of the books we read — together and alone. I said yes, and the rest is history!
What is your favourite type of post to write?
Hm. That’s a good question.
I really like doing Top Ten Tuesdays, although some weeks it takes a lot of work. I also love writing up reviews. So, those are my two favorites!
What are your top three blog posts?
Okay, so my three personal favorites.
It literally has one like. (Ily Melanie.) Seriously. But, it’s my favorite because I seriously love Hannibal, a show that no one ever talks about besides me.
The feedback/love I got from this post made me feel as if I wasn’t alone with going through this. While I’m now basically off of my abridged schedule, I still just loved knowing that all of you will be here and don’t care how much content gets pushed out.
This isn’t my most popular review. It’s actually more popular on Goodreads (whoops) than here. Which is fine! Different demographics and all that. But, I put a lot of work into that post with researching and refuting Weir’s shitty history in her fictionalized version of Anne’s life.
What are your five favourite things?
My puppies, family, friends, books, and computer.
What are your proudest blogging moments?
My proudest moment was the first time this blog ever got to 1000 monthly views. That happened back in July 2018 and I was so shocked. And then it kept happening. Every single month since July has gotten to 1000+ views and it never fails to make me happy.
What are your hobbies outside of blogging?
Jeez. I read. A lot. Seriously, I read nonstop.
But, also, I’m a student so I write lots of fun papers. Such as: “Live Discharge from Hospice,” “Community Level Intervention,” and “Transgender Rights through the Lens of Social Capital Theory and General Systems Theory.”
Uhm, I also play with my dogs, watch lots of TV, and have a weird obsession with true crime.
Describe your personality in three words.
Weird. Consistent. Sarcastic.
I asked Chantel, and she says I’m blunt, quirky, and caring.
What are your top three pet peeves?
Oh god. Just three???
People who don’t follow through with plans, when I’m not in control, and my shows get canceled.
What’s something that your followers don’t know about you?
I’m pretty open about my life, but I don’t think I’ve really talked about traveling. My dad, once upon a time, worked for Sprint in a higher up position. He was a team leader and chair with telecommunications. He was laid off nearly a decade ago, but for my childhood we traveled. When he worked for Sprint, I went to: Canada (many times), different US states, England (London, Bath, and Stonehenge), Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Greece. I wouldn’t be surprised if I left something out, tbh!
Then, when I graduated from high school my school put on a whole European travel thing. Aka, 7 countries (or more) in 14 days. It was intense, but that’s what I wanted for my graduation present from my parents. I have so. many. hilarious stories from that trip. Jesus. They still make me laugh. But! I went to: The Netherlands (Amsterdam and Volendam), Germany (Munich, Black Forest, and Heidelburg), Austria (literally we went to one town for an afternoon stop, which was Innsbruck), Italy (Venice and Verona), Switzerland (don’t remember the town, but it was beautiful), France (Colmar and Paris), and England (London, Oxford, and Stonehenge).
I’m actually going on a vacation in June — not overseas — so I’m really excited for that. I love traveling.
So, I’m not going to tag anyone, but if you see this and want to do it, go right ahead! I’d love for you to link it back to me so I can read it.
