I’m nearly 100% sure that I’ve done a tag or answered a question around these lines. But, I couldn’t find anything when I searched for a post. So, either way, let’s see the characters that remind me of me!
Also, I’m breaking the rules. Not all of these are book characters! Why? Because I watch a lot of TV.
- Harry Potter
Yep. Go big or go home. But, seriously. I’ve always felt a certain kinship with Harry. I think it was because that he went through so many hard things in his life and he turned out okay. He also is willing to give the shirt off his back to someone even while he grew up with nothing. That kindness reminds me of myself in some ways.
- Shadow Moon
Shadow is a hard character to nail down. But, he’s another kind character. Funny, too. He’s also completely loyal. One of the most loyal people you can find in a book. (Minus Harry, I guess.) But, I love him. I love his character.
- Remus Lupin
Ah, Remus. I think what reminds me of myself in him is his use of humor to displace what he’s feeling. I use humor. A lot. Tbh, that’s how I’ve been getting through everything with my sister. But, not only that, but Remus tried to run because he was afraid. He’s still a brave man, but even brave men falter at times. I’ve definitely done that a few times.
- Gilderoy Lockhart
Okay so Gilderoy Lockhart is my bad side. We all have parts of us we don’t like, right? And Gilderoy is that. Whenever I read the second book, I cringe so, so bad whenever he’s on the page. Why? Because his bravado and just insisting he knows everything (even when he doesn’t) reminds me of myself. I can get that way. Chantel’s seen it more than once.
- Donna Noble
DONNA NOBLE IS BETTER THAN ROSE TYLER. There, I said it. In half the gifs of this wonderful woman, she’s shouting and saying something funny. And, kind of like Remus, she uses humor to displace herself. She also is super loud at times because she doesn’t have a lot of self-confidence. That reminds me of me because, at times, I get loud and use humor to displace how I’m feeling.
- Will Graham
My sweet baby angel. My sweet baby, Will Graham. Who made a lot of bad life choices in the later episodes. But, I think I feel in tune with Will because he bottles his emotions up. He just keeps them inside and doesn’t let anyone see. That’s totally me in a nutshell. I cry a lot, tbh, but I can’t cry when it’s something personal going on. I’ll happily cry during a movie or TV show or while reading, but when there’s something awful going on in my life, I can’t cry.
- Steve Harrington
I didn’t like Steve at first, but then the second season happened. And I fell in love with him. I love how protective he is and how he, literally, nearly died to keep people safe. That’s me. Or, I feel that’s me because I’d do that with the people I love.
- Alison Hendrix
Alison is my wino spirit animal. I’m not a recovering alcoholic like she is (nor do I have a million clones of myself) but, sometimes, my coping skills aren’t the best. And I also love wine.
- Mr. Darcy
Mr. Darcy is hilarious and great. I think I reflect with him because I hate parties and I hate being around people I don’t know. This is when I use humor the most, but seriously. I always felt a kinship with him because he doesn’t always say the right things — I can be very rude at times — and is hard to get along with.
- Bobby Singer
I want a whole show that’s just about Bobby. That’s it. That’s all I want. Fuck SPN and what it’s become. Just give me Bobby. He’s full of quippy one-liners. He’s also an old shit. But, he’s a smart man who grew up with the world against him, made a family of his own, and was the best parent Sam and Dean could have had. But, his curmudgeon side is me how I feel all the time but can’t express.
