Cue embarrassment. Oh man. Our first book reviews for this blog. I’m not going over to Goodreads because that’s too much work, but I’m doing our first 10 books that were reviewed on this blog. Let the embarrassment begin!
Also, at the end of this post, I’m going to fill y’all in about what’s going on in my life. There have been some hard times the past few days and I wanted to let people know. I’ve been open on Instagram and Goodreads, but I know not all of you follow us there.
This is the first ever review that was put up on here! This was back when we did more joint reviews and also tried to integrate both of our thoughts together in third person. God, that was a trip and we stopped doing that after a bit. But, this is the very first review we did.
The secondary title to this is “A Cultural History of the Penis”. Chantel and I found it so funny that we decided to read it together. Not our favorite, but it sure was a trip to read. And, it’s another one of those blended joint reviews.
Another joint review! I really liked it, Chantel didn’t. Personally, I found it fascinating and would read it again.
This is Chantel’s review! I also reviewed it, but this is hers. She loves queer fiction and I think that she enjoyed this? I can’t quite remember.
This is my review! I remember enjoying this book. Listened to it at work and thought it was excellent. I really need to own it tbh.
Another one of my reviews! And, another one I listened to while at work. Fantastic. I really need to reread this at some point.
Chantel’s review! I haven’t read this and I can’t remember if she enjoyed it, but the title is certainly interesting, isn’t it?
I have a vague memory of listening to this at work. I was making boxes and listening to the reader drone on. I don’t know why I read this. I don’t even really like Churchill.
This was the first ever ARC review that was posted on here and it’s my review. I remember really enjoying this book. It was a good read, tbh.
I love The Gentleman Bastards series, so it’s a no duh that it’s been posted on here. Just a great series. I listened to the audiobook for this one, which was a great idea.
And, now that we’re through with me posting this blog’s first ever reviews, I’m here to talk about hard news. I have half-siblings who are quite a bit older than me. And, we found out on April 20th that my sister just found out she has terminal cancer. As of yesterday, we know that she’s stable and is doing as well as can be expected. We’ll have, likely, a few months with her.
I’m going to be on here doing things. Liking posts for sure. But, my brain isn’t going to be completely here. I love all of you and I wanted to be open about what’s going on and why I’m taking a slight step back even as posts are coming up.
