Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018!
I am a mood reader to the extreme, so this prompt will be… interesting. However, there were some books that I had hoped to get to but wasn’t able to because of mood, time, or I totally forgot.
This one, I actually was supposed to buddy read but I tried reading it and couldn’t get into it at the time. So, I put it aside and I’m planning on getting to it soon! It isn’t my usual read, but it looks amazing either way.
Oh, Teddy, Teddy, Teddy. I’ve owned this book for years and I really wanted to get to it last October, but, again, didn’t happen. Netflix is actually doing a documentary that looks a lot like this book about Ted. It actually comes out two days from this post. I think that will spark me into reading this.
Sigh. I’ve had this book for a long time and it’s just sitting there anymore. I’m still planning on reading it this year, but I need to figure out which month with the person I’m buddy reading it with.
Another BotM choice that’s staring me down and making me feel bad for not reading it sooner. I think this might be a good summer read for me, so that’s likely when I’ll tackle it!
Ah yes. More Henry VIII. I’ve owned this book for at least a year but I’ve never gotten to it. I know a lot about Henry’s later reign, but I want to know more about his earlier stuff! So, I’ll get to that.
Now, this isn’t the cover I own, but I like it a lot better! Anyways, I have a few books about Mary that I’m inspired to read thanks to Mary Queen of Scots. (The movie, that is.) So, it’s on my list to read!
Another one that I attempted last year and couldn’t get into. I know it’s going to be interesting, but I just need to be in the right mindset for it!
Yes, this is a book I own. Yes, I have read some of it. I took a class about new religious movements for my undergrad and we actually talked about alien religions for a week or two. I want to read this whole book sometime this year!
So, the editor of this was my professor and I took a class that had the same name as the title. I’ve read most of the essays in it, but I want to read them all. So, that’s my goal! To read them all. (He also taught the NRM course, too. He loved teaching the “controversial” stuff at my Jesuit university.)
This list wouldn’t be complete without a Stephen King book! I own it because I love the movie 1408 and I really want to read the original story. Plus, you know, I love King.
Have you read any of these?
What are some books that you didn’t get to read last year?
I’ve read “The Chalk Man” and “The Clockmaker’s Daughter” and can recommend both.

Good to hear! I like the vote of confidence for both of those titles.
