Top Ten Tuesday – Books I Hope I Find Under My Christmas Tree This Morning

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018!

Tbh, I know for a fact that I’m not getting any books today from other people. (Unless Chantel surprises me, that is!) I know this is because I didn’t ask for any. Finances were tight this year so I asked my parents to buy me my textbooks from last semester — they’re good ones for general knowledge — and that’s all I’m getting from them.

However, I did buy myself some books with Amazon gift cards.

1536: The Year That Changed Henry VIII

I read this a couple years ago now and I really enjoyed it. I want a copy of it for my Tudor shelf, so I decided to buy myself it! It’s a very good and compelling read. I found it to be an apt one.

  • Finishing what books I didn’t have of the Dublin Murder Squad series by Tana French

I adore Tana French. And it infuriated me that I didn’t own all of her books, tbh. My dad, who decided he was going to do a “fun” gift for me, refused to get them because he wanted to get me a shirt. (Thanks, dad.) So, I found copies of them and decided to get them!

Magna Carta: The Birth of LibertyThe Templars: The Rise and Spectacular Fall of God's Holy Warriors

  • A couple of Dan Jones books

Now, I do love Dan Jones. I think he’s a great history author. Now I own all of the books he’s published. I’m going to read The Templars early next year, so I’m excited!

  • A few classics

Specifically, I got them as the word cloud covers because I think those look the coolest. I’ve read Frankenstein and Shakespeare’s sonnets, but not Madame Bovary, My Antonia, or Lady Chatterley’s Lover.

  • Finishing out my Ania Ahlborn collection

Finally, I own all of Ania Ahlborn’s books! And that makes me so excited. She’s definitely one of my favorite horror authors. She improves with each and every book I read by her.

  • And some books I read this year and loved

I really feel blessed this year by the amazing books I was able to read, so I went ahead and got some! All of these are books I would reread at the drop of a hat, so they deserve a space on my shelf.

Talk to me!
Have you read any of these?
What books do you hope you get gifted?
