Book review – The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson

The Haunting of Hill House

3/5

This one has been on my TBR for years and I’m finally getting to it this Halloween season. It was… okay? I’m not sure how to feel about it. I liked it, but nothing really happened. The characters all stood out to me in their own way, but the plot wasn’t very there. A haunted house that… was haunted? Maybe? I’m still not sure. It plays on the same themes I’ve read quite a few times. Haunting or mental illness? Haunting or trick of the light?

And, nothing was really decided upon. Which made me feel a bit crazy since I wanted something more concrete from this classic bit of horror.

    • Thank you! I didn’t have too much to say about it, but I’d suggest it if you want to wait around a lot. (This review was going to be a part of a mini review post, but I decided against it so I didn’t mean for it to be so short.)
