Three Quotes, Three Days – Day Three

Okay, so we were tagged by Coffee, Cakes n Books to do this! Thank you so much for the tag!! We’ve always seen this around but never had a chance to do it. This is the third (and final) day so you can read day one here and day two here.

THE RULES

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Post a quote (each) for three consecutive days.
  • Nominate three bloggers each day.

Caidyn will be in blue.
Chantel will be in purple.

“Numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it.”

– JK Rowling, said by Dumbledore in Goblet of Fire

This is one of my favorite quotes from Harry Potter just because it reminds me of how I grew up. You can’t keep numbing yourself. You’ll fall apart if you do that. It might be protective in the moment, but it does make it horrible in the end.

“We were like gods at the dawning of the world, and our joy was so bright we could see nothing else but the other.” – Madeline Miller, The Song of Achilles

Without a doubt, one of the best books I read last year was The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. She is absolutely one of my favorite authors and it’s because of her lyrical writing. I’ve never read any author who puts words together as well as she does.

The Song of Achilles is such a beautiful and tragic love story between Achilles and Patroclus. I found it compelling and it brought me to tears. I just love everything about it.

Thank you all for sticking around to read all these tags. A huge thank you to Coffee, Cakes, n Books for the original tag! We’re still not going to tag people but, as before, consider yourself tagged if you want to do this.
